A gift from Holland

As I was arriving home...

...passing through the grocery store, I couldn't resist these 

beautiful pomegranates.

[The fruit used as pomegranate is arrack]

Another gift...

...from my neighbor...he just can't help himself!!

My neighbor brought me some Easter goodies...

...so tomorrow I'll surprise him with some homemade chocolate 

and vanilla Easter cookies.

Although it's winter...

...I make a lot of popsicles (usually with natural juice) and 

didn't have much storage space in the built-in fridge freezer,

so I got a big one with a lovely vintage style.

I made...

 

...marmalade with the pulp and jelly with the peels and lumps

of this two huge quinces my neighbor gave me.

Usually marmalade is made out of oranges, but in Portugal

it's made with the original fruit: quince; in fact, I believe 

it was named after the fruit, that in portuguese is "marmelo".

[For those who are not familiar with the fruit used as quince, it's

actually: arrack - in portuguese: araçal or araçá]

A friend gave me this coffee table...

...she no longer needed and it turned out very handy!
